Itinerary

Day 1 Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Middle Atlas - Ziz Valley - Merzouga

– 7 hours

We will pick you up either from your hotel or the airport before starting this fantastic tour towards the dunes of the Sahara desert!
Our first stop will be Azrou, a small Berber village nestled among cedar groves which is famous for its local monkeys.
You will then continue through the Atlas Mountains, a mountain chain that runs across the entire length of the country and that boasts 4,000-metre peaks. You will see some breathtaking views along the way and as you descend towards Ziz. This valley is famous for its lush vegetation surrounded by a rocky desert.
Next you will pass through the Berber cities of Erfoud and Rissani, renowned for their fossils, and continue on to Merzouga, a the small town at the edge of the desert.
You will then travel on camels to the camp, where you will enjoy a thousand and one nights experience with a delicious dinner served under the stars and accompanied by Berber music.
Don’t miss the sunset among the dunes: the sand’s ever-changing shades of red are a sight to behold!

Day 2 Merzouga - Erg Chebbi - Khamlia - Merzouga

– 4 hours

This day begins nice and early with a sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, you will start your journey into the desert.
Our expert driver will take you on an ride across the sand dunes. Your first stop is Khamlia, a village known for its dark-skinned people. Here you will listen to ancient songs that came from central Africa. These villagers migrated here many centuries ago, bringing along their tribal traditions.
You will then visit Mifiss mines and meet some nomad families who still live in the desert.
You will then be driven back for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel in Merzouga.

Day 3 Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Midelt- MIddle Atlas - Fes

– 7 hours

After a breakfast at the hotel, you will get back on the road heading toward Fes.
On the way back you will see an ever-changing landscape, from rolling dunes to rocky desert, from lush palm forests to cedar groves.
There will be two short stops along the way. The first stop is Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco. This charming town with red roofs, flower gardens and countless little lakes is a popular winter holiday destination for Moroccans and one of the southernmost skiing locations in our hemisphere! The second stop is Midelt, which is famous for its apple orchards.
The return to Fes is scheduled for late afternoon.
